Spring 1.1.1 has been released and I have already upload it to the ibiblio repository so it’s now available for Maven users. You can check the announcement, the changelog or download it.

Struts Or JSF? Struts And JSF?
Craig McClanahan, the original creator of the Struts Framework and the co-specification lead for JavaServer Faces 1.0 (JSF) has wrotten a very interesting entry in his weblog about Struts and JSF integration, with some comments about Spring and JSF.
Definitively JSF is on the top of my list of TODO tasks.

Does Sun test its webapps?
I was taking a look to the JUG section of java.sun.com and went to the search form . I just clicked the Search button without entering form data and voil�! I got an exception, not only telling the system was not througly tested but also that the underlying database is Oracle (see the “ORA” code)
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00936: missing expression
This made me recall a conference about search engines where I was told that the most searched word was… the empty string! So don’t underestimate user dumbness 😉
